1/10/2024 | Post 111 of the American Legion welcomes veterans residing or working in Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, Cedar Fort, Fairfield and surrounding communities to attend their monthly meeting, every 2nd Wednesday at 7pm, held in the Welcome Center of the Eagle Mountain Chamber of Commerce at 3688 E. Campus Dr. #101, Eagle Mountain, UT 84005 Who can join the Legion? All veterans are welcome. If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged or you are still serving active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion. What is the difference between the VFW and the American Legion? While both the VFW and American Legion are organizations that serve veterans, they have different requirements for entry. The VFW is open only to veterans who served in combat, while the Legion is open to anyone who has served in the military. What kinds of resources are available? Post 111 has a Veterans Service Officer VSO to assist with PACT Act Claims, military disability ratings, and accessing other needed resources. Our Mission To enhance the well-being of America's veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. The American Legion's vision statement is "The American Legion: Veterans Strengthening America." With activities, games, food trucks, and classes separated by age groups, we ensure a friendly environment for all ages. The evening will begin with the community resource fair in the commons area of the high school. There will also be fun activities and games at different booths for all to enjoy. Community members will have the chance to dive deeper into the theme by attending one of the three classes offered in the Lecture Hall. Each of the classes offered is tailored to specific age groups.
